Poultry Processing Crew

March 2025 - OPEN Processing Crew positions, seasonal & part-time, 16-24 hrs/wk.
(Additional hours available for product packing work on non-processing days. )
Full day schedule (8am start, typically ends 4:30pm) on Mondays, most Wednesdays, and some Thursdays.
Minimum of 1 season commitment, March through December.
Potential to continue through winter into 2026 and become a year-round, long-term position.

Processing Crew Details

$18-22+/hr (depending on experience and skills), on-the-job training, and increases based on reliability, commitment, performance, and skills gained.

Job Description
Poultry Processing Crew members assist in the poultry processing facility. Stations include: Kill side (cones, scalder, plucker), Clean side (crop, vent, evisceration, rinsing), Chilling (racking, temp checks, off-racking). In addition, responsibilities include safe use of knives and sharp tools, and clean up and sanitization of the facility and equipment.

  • Assist with processing facility set up and clean up
  • Poultry processing facility work:
    • Kill side stations: cones, scalding, plucking
    • Clean side stations: crop, vent, evisceration, rinsing
    • Chilling stations: monitoring, recordkeeping, stirring, adding ice
  • Maintain clean, organized work & storage spaces

Physical & Sensory Requirements

  • Stand for several hours at a time
  • Bend, stoop, and lift up to 4-20 lbs repeatedly for several hours
  • Lift and carry up to 40-60 lbs
  • Work in wet/damp environments
  • Work in a cool & cold environments (walk-in coolers & freezers)
  • Work in an environment with live animals and throughout the process of producing food from livestock

We raise poultry for wholesale and provide the local farming community with custom poultry processing services. We are progressing towards a USDA Grant of Inspection (early 2025), after which we will be the sole USDA poultry processing facility in MA.
